JMango360 and WSC Unveil Magento Mobile App Extension, MageJam At The 2014 Imagine eCommerce Worldwide Conference

12 MAY 2014, LAS VEGAS, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 12 MAY 2014
Summary
JMango360, a mobile application development company and WSC Malta Inc., a Magento software development company has just launched MageJam, an extension built for the JMango360 Mobile Application Development Platform that would enable Magento eCommerce shop owners to build native mobile applications for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry smartphones.

The JMango360 mobile development platform allows anyone, regardless of skill or programming knowledge, to create native mobile applications for all of the major smartphones. The platform uses a menu-driven app building process and does away with the complicated programming commonly associated with mobile application development. This development method makes it easier and faster for businesses to roll out their own application.

WSC started off as a service provider for Magento under the brand WebSpaceCommerce and built commercial extensions under the brand MageStarApps. With the rapid growth of mobile commerce, WSC aims to expand its brand and reach through MageJam.

Magento powers 25% of the Alexa Top 1 Million eCommerce sites making it one of the largest eCommerce platforms in the world. MageJam will connect existing Magento web stores to apps built using the JMango360 development platform.

While officially at its beta stage, the MageJam plugin supports and synchronizes JMango360 with Magento, allowing for product catalogs, user profiles and authentication, order creation and status updates to be made with either the web store or through a mobile application. It works with existing Magento Module Payment methods and it has been structured in such a way that new 3rd party hosted payment solutions can be added within 1 day. Out of the Box shipping methods are also supported.

Both companies are committed to a quick update cycle allowing more Magento stores to create mobile applications using JMango360. A major product update is already in the works for June which will see the plugin support configurable products.

During the second half of this year, further product releases will introduce many more features such as support for Magento Enterprise versions 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13. Grouped bundled and virtual products will also be supported and a filter mechanism to determine which products can be sold in the mobile store will be added. Other features include recurring payments, 2-way product reviews, coupons and a basic loyalty program.

JMango360 is currently running a limited beta test of its platform. Users can sign up and create applications for free. A subscription fee is charged once the users publish their application.

Daniel Higgins, CEO and Founder of WSC Malta said: “There is a lot to gain for businesses by going mobile. We believe that releasing a mobile application will become a viable strategy for most businesses due to the rich features we have brought and plan to bring from Magento and the affordability JMango360 brings to mobile app development. Through our aggressive development schedule we hope to be able to address most (if not all) of the needs of businesses that wish to widen their reach through a mobile application.”

Ilan Oosting, CEO and Founder of JMango360 said: “We are thrilled to be working with WSC in integrating Magento capabilities to our platform. Magento is currently one of the largest eCommerce platforms in the world so it is important for us for our platform to work with theirs. We think that the combination of Magento through MageJam and our JMango360 Mobile Development Platform will provide businesses with all of the tools they will need in order to succeed in their mobile commerce venture.”
